Position Title:
Executive Director, Operations

Status: Full Time, Part of Executive Leadership Team

Reports to: Lead Pastor

Position Objective:
Harvest Church is prayerfully seeking an Executive Director of Operations to serve as the strategic leader of our central business functions. This role is a unique opportunity for a strong integrator to join a high-capacity senior leadership team that is shaping the future of Harvest Church. This senior leader will oversee the systems, processes, and infrastructure that undergird ministry across all locations, ensuring that Harvest Church operates with excellence, integrity, and alignment to our mission.

As a growing multisite church, Harvest Church requires an operations leader who can both steward significant resources and position the church for growth and ministry effectiveness. The Executive Director of Operations will provide organizational leadership in areas such as finance, facilities, human resources, communications, and technology—empowering ministry staff to focus on ministry effectiveness.

Position Description:
The Executive Director of Operations will serve as Harvest Church’s senior leader of central services, reporting directly to Lead Pastor. This role functions as the church’s resident business and operational expert—guiding and protecting Harvest Church as both a ministry and a nonprofit organization.

With oversight of multiple departments, the Executive Director of Operations ensures that Harvest Church’s infrastructure is scalable, secure, and strategically aligned with ministry priorities.

Responsibilities:
The Executive Director of Operations will be a strategic integrator that provides executive leadership throughout the organization

Organizational Leadership

  • Champion Harvest Church’s mission, vision, culture, and ministry standards across all operational departments

  • Serve as a leader of leaders—attracting, developing, and empowering staff and volunteers

  • Model leadership, teamwork, and humility within the senior leadership team and across the organization

Financial Leadership

  • Serve as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing banking and audit relationships

  • Lead budgeting, accounting practices, and financial policy development to ensure compliance, transparency, and stewardship.

  • Provide financial reporting and analysis that informs strategic decision-making

Departmental Oversight

  • Finance – Accounts payable/receivable, audits, compliance, reporting, and analysis

  • Communications – Strategic messaging, branding, and church-wide communication channels

  • Production – Worship services, special events, and facilities support

  • Business Operations – Legal, contracts, insurance, office management, and government relations

  • Facilities – Custodial and maintenance management services, capital projects, and renovations

  • Human Resources – Hiring, onboarding, payroll, benefits, wage analysis, policies, and compliance

  • Information Technology – Hardware, software, databases, infrastructure, licensing, and security

  • Safety and Security – Emergency response processes, background checks, training, and safety and security protocols

Systems & Processes

  • Maintain proficiency with technology systems that support church-wide business operations

  • Develop and refine systems that increase ministry effectiveness and organizational efficiency

  • Ensure policies, guidelines, and practices reflect both legal requirements and biblical values

  • Project management overseeing capital projects, bids, RFQ processes and contracts

Spiritual and Character Qualifications:

  • Have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a passionate, growing personal
    relationship with Him

  • Meet the biblical qualifications of an Elder (I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9)

  • Be a self-starter with drive, passion and initiative

  • Be teachable and willing to be held accountable

  • Be a team player with a positive attitude, willing to uphold and champion the Harvest Church staff culture

  • Be a ministry partner willing to voice concern and disagreement in a respectable way while following accepted relationships of authority, responsibility and leadership

  • Be above reproach in personal conduct and on social media, exhibiting a lifestyle consistent with the scriptures as a follower of Jesus

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, organizational leadership, or related field

  • 7+ years of senior leadership experience in operations, administration, or executive church leadership

  • Demonstrates expertise in financial management, organizational systems, and team leadership

  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of execution
