GIVING FAQ
WHAT IS E-GIVING AND WHY DO YOU USE IT?↓
Today, people are accustomed to going online to pay bills, order gifts, buy fitness memberships, and more. Online giving provides the same convenience for those seeking a similar route for making a financial tithe or gift to the church. While we accept offerings via credit cards, we strongly suggest that no one give out of debt or use a credit card unless it is paid off every month.
IS E-GIVING SECURE?↓
Yes. Harvest Church uses an established third-party vendor as a clearinghouse to transfer funds to our bank. Information submitted online is protected by physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in compliance with federal and state regulations, including firewalls and data encryption.
CAN I GIVE TO MULTIPLE FUNDS?↓
Yes. On the e-Giving form, you can click on the "Add Donation" button to give to more than one fund at a time, and then select your desired fund from the dropdown box. If you are giving via check, indicate the preferred fund(s) on the memo portion.
CAN I SET UP RECURRING GIFTS?↓
Yes. You can set up a recurring gift on the e-Giving form by changing the Frequency from "One Time" to "Regularly" using the dropdown box.
SHOULD I SUBMIT A GIFT VIA AUTOMATIC WITHDRAWAL (ACH), CREDIT CARD, OR DEBIT CARD?↓
Any of those methods is acceptable. An automatic withdrawal transaction transfers funds directly from bank to bank, and funds are withdrawn from your bank account. Offerings contributed via debit and credit cards go through a credit agency (e.g., Visa, Mastercard, Discover).
ARE THERE FEES ASSOCIATED WITH EACH METHOD OF E-GIVING?↓
Each type of e-Giving incurs some kind of fee. These fees will be absorbed by Harvest Church unless you choose to cover the processing fee by checking the box on the e-Giving form. Automatic withdrawals (ACH) incur a flat fee of $.25 which is less than the percentage incurred with credit or debit transactions. Therefore, automatic transfers (ACH) are the preferred method of e-Giving.
IS THERE A WAY TO GIVE STOCK CONTRIBUTIONS?↓
If you would like to make a stock contribution or any other kind of contribution, please contact our operations director, Marty Baker at mbaker@harvestindy.org.
Note: The church is registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donors will receive an annual statement for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lays completely at the discretion of the church and that the gifts are non-refundable and nontransferable, per IRS regulations. Gifts may be tax deductible. Please consult a tax advisor.
