JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Graphic Designer
Position Reports to: Director of Communications
Status: Part Time - 20-32 hrs
Position Objective: Graphic Designer is responsible for assisting in collaboration and execution of graphics that uphold the communication strategies of Harvest Church and it’s various ministries while maintaining and strengthening the Harvest Church brand.
Responsibilities and Desired Skills
Actively participate in weekly brainstorming and team meetings
Provide original and adapted print and digital support for weekend experiences and other ministry from inception to completion
Assist the Creative Team in maintaining brand across the ministries and needs of the church
Identify new ways to communicate the gospel through profound design
View digital proofs for overall accuracy, clarity, content, registration, and color
Responsible for planning and executing assigned ministry and facility projects
Typesetting copy, laying out pages, organizing digital files for output
Create mockups as needed; print, cut, mount posters/signs
Communicate and maintain relationships with print reps, printers and suppliers, ensuring quality and timely delivery of final product
Create graphics to successfully communicate clearly the short term ministry goals across all media platforms while staying on brand - including but not limited to social media, e-news, website, etc
Create graphics to support print, promotions, digital, and socials for all ministry and church-wide events
Assist in the photography, editing, and curating of Sundays and weekly life with Harvest and special events in collaboration with the entire Creative Team
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) required
Spiritual and Character Qualifications
Good attitude and willing to help with projects (etc. stage design, audio, graphics projects)
Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a passionate, growing personal relationship with Him
Self-starter with drive, passion, and initiative
Teachable spirit with a desire to be held accountable
Willingness to abide by Harvest Staff Core Values and code of conduct
Minimum Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or specific certification and preferably with 2-5 years of experience in graphic design or a related field
Other Skills, Abilities, Qualifications, Etc.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite
Working knowledge of Canva preferred but not required
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, time management, and muti-tasking skills
Ability to work well and troubleshoot in a multifaceted, fast-paced environment
Ability to follow directions with little oversight
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Creative thinker
Good team player
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to research and learn new industry standards, procedures, equipment, software, etc. as they arise
Experience and understanding of social media is preferred but not required
Experience and basic understanding in website design is preferred but not required
Has a strong work ethic – meets deadlines, is organized, can be trusted, uses time wisely
Can balance being a self-starter with respectfully and appropriately asking questions and influencing improvement
Experience in managing contractors
